Monday Fun- stuff I like

Apr 18

Those who have worked with me, or know me, know that I really like stationery. When other kids in my family were getting scooters and pop corn makers for Christmas- I was unwrapping a laminator or a labeler.  When I was in primary school I was going to be a Journalist so my Mum bought me a type writer and a dictaphone. Yes, I have always been a nerd and my Mum has always encouraged it. You know when you’re stressed out and you just want to go to a calming place? Yeah Officeworks has that effect on me.

So with what has been a busy time of late, I thought it would be worthwhile sharing some fun stuff that I think is cool (and relevant) with you on this fantastical Monday morning.

1) I’ve posted before about the ‘three good things’ idea and of course there are apps for that. But if you like to get out the book and the pen before you fall asleep, you should check out the gratitude book from kikki.K. It’s kinda like a diary where you can quickly jot down three things that you are grateful for (and you don’t have to do it everyday), it has nice quotes in it to help you reflect and even a section where you can list people you are grateful for. Nice way to remember the positives before your head hits the pillows each night.

2) Coloured pens. Well these are like normal ball point pens but they come in funky pink and purple colours. Make stuff a bit more interesting especially when you are doodling in a meeting.

3) I love post its, but these are amazing. Reminds you to add that personal touch when leaving a note on someone’s desk or injecting some humor into someone’s day. They were about $5 and I picked them up from Myer but this website is amazing. It’s important to say thank you to people and appreciate them so I especially like the “great job on” and “thank you” one.

So release your inner nerd today and inject a little fun for Monday!

I always write my To-Do lists in glitter (coloured) pens – it has become a running joke amongst some of my work colleagues who like to see which colour zone I am in this week… :)

So it’s entertaining for other people as well? Awesome!
