HR Club Sydney Expands!

Feb 19

I’m really pleased to say that we are successfully growing the HR Community in NSW and it’s been an awesome experience meeting people and hearing what people are up to in their various workplaces; whether it be government, private, small or large organisations.

HR Club Sydney currently has 53 fans on Facebook and 806 followers on Twitter.

Since we moved across to a hosted wordpress blog in October 2009, HR Club Sydney has published over 115 posts and we get a few hundred people looking at the blog each month.

Pretty exciting stuff and now we are expanding up the coast with HR Club Newcastle.

Similarly to HR Club Sydney, HR Club Newcastle is involved in Social media activities and intends on holding regular, free networking events for the HR Community to get together over a sneaky beverage and talk all things HR.

I was lucky enough to be invited up for the first event to speak on Social Media and HR. There was some excellent discussion on this from the crowd and everyone was keen to have their say.

If you are interested, here is a copy of my presentation.

and the following are a list of helpful links I passed onto the group:

A Social Media Policy Database
A more in-depth look at the Ernst and Young Facebook Fan Page I referred to in my presentation
List of 40 Social Media Staff Guidelines (from Social Media Consultant in Australia)
Twitter 101 for Business
Approaches to Social Media Security

If you ever have any questions, want to get more involved in social media or just want to connect via LinkedIn- I’m always happy to help. AHRI has recently joined the Social media space as well- see details here.

Also if you know of anyone who would like to set-up a HR Club in their own State (I think HR Club Queensland is in the works!) please let me know, and I can assist with the blog set-up.
