Crossing to you live from the AHRI National Convention #AHRINC

May 10

Good morning everyone! I’m writing this morning from the beautiful Melbourne because I’m lucky enough to be here for the AHRI National Convention.

Yesterday (oh- Happy Mother’s Day everyone!!), I did the usual which is the Mother’s Day Classic with my Mum and sister (you can sponsor me here if you like) and can I take a moment to say, we did an awesome job. My boyfriend and I ran 4km in about 23mins and my Mum and sister did about 28 mins. We then had breaky together and I hopped a plane straight to Melbourne for the opening.

Now can I say, I wish the Hilton was paying me to say this, alas no I paid for my room but it is pretty damn amazing. It’s just so beautiful, the staff are super helpful and it’s right next to the Convention Centre and DFO. I think I’ll plan a holiday to come back here just to do some shopping!

In any case, last night was the Exhibition opening and welcome reception. It was very pink, with pink champagne, pink desserts and the opportunity to win a number of prizes with the purchase of a pink ribbon to support breast cancer research. It was also a good opportunity to catch up with old friends or meet new people.

The highlight for me though, was meeting Marshall Goldsmith who is the opening speaker this morning.

When I first arrived at 5pm I wondered around for a bit, and had a look through the bookshop. Actually, part of me knew my credit card might get a work out at the convention but they are discounted so I’m saving money not spending money right??

In any case, my first book of choice was “What got you here Won’t get you there” by Marshall Goldsmith. So as you can imagine, I was pretty stoked to have him personally sign my book.
He was so sweet- and it really made my night :)
